The Gold Coast Desalination Plant – converting sea water into drinking water.
Join Seqwater during this hour-long virtual tour of the Gold Coast Desalination Plant.
The plant produces drinking water every week for the SEQ Water Grid and when dam levels are below 60% – like they are now – we increase production. Since dam levels first dipped below 60% in September 2020, the desalination plant has delivered more than 22,000 million litres of drinking water to South East Queensland homes.
Learn more about the process of desalination – separating dissolved salts and other minerals from seawater to produce drinking water – and how the plant, built in 2010, is an integral part of South East Queensland’s drinking water supply.
Snap up this opportunity to take a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the desalination plant!
Both tours will be virtual and delivered by Microsoft Teams. Tour registrations will be taken by the team at SEQ Water. For further information please visit their website: https://www.seqwater.com.au/
